How is this technology being integrated into science instruction to improve student learning?
The features that make for successful lessons are the same, regardless of the technology or equipment you use. Successful lessons are well-designed and well structured with clear learning objectives and outcomes. One of the new tools for teachers is an interactive whiteboard (IWB). How can the Promethean Boards and ActiveExpressions be used effectively in science instruction?
Participants in this session will:
Discuss best practices for IWB in science instruction.
Become familiar with common functions/tools of ActiveInspire used to enhance science instruction
Discuss how to incorporate on-line resources for KUSD science textbooks with Promethean software
Learn about resource packs from Promethean Planet as well as how to download and install a resource pack.
Please read this article before our session paying particular attention to pages 8-16. We will be discussing section 3 "Where do I go from here?" (starts on page 8) and case studies 1 and 2 from section 4 (p 14-16).
